Just borrowed the game from a friend; I'm a BF2 guy myself and thought what the fuck.

Is it better than Battlefield 2?

That's a loaded question. I personally think so, but it's more like a pseduo-upgrade. It's a bit better, and very different.

But you'll love it like I love Jello Pudding Pops.

It's awesome, but the best thing is to try it out and see what you think, and realize that yes, eventually you get all of those really cool unlocks that everyone else has.

I prefer it over BF2... But I'm a crappy pilot so BF2 never really appealed to me.

I think it's a lot like BF2 minus the heavy emphasis on air superiority.

JK I played 2142 prior to playing BF2. I got to play TTP 2142 though, I got only I think 20 min on 2142 on other servers before I gave up because it was SO not what I thought it was(lacked loads of Teamplay on those other servers)

As stated by others, it is a much more balanced game than BF2. Each of the classes has their strengths and weaknesses and the gunship isn't quite the terror from above that the jets and helos are in BF2. That being said I've also found the action of 2142 much more intense than BF2. In BF2, I found myself able to socialize a little more on comms, but in 2142, you don't necessarily have the luxury. I like both games and still play both, but I'll play 2142 over BF2 any day.
