Unfortunately, 2142 doesn't really have anything in the way of a demo/spectator mode, which makes it hard to track people down who are doing this. The only thing to do, really, is to spawn somewhere close to them and see if you can get a glimpse of their name (and a screenshot). You can also ask the commander to use his full zoom level (which gives a live bird's-eye view of the battlefield) to see if they can see who it is. It's annoying, but worth it to get these guys off the server.

Edit: Oh, and I forgot - if the person is in your squad, besides telling them to stop, you can also open the squad screen (Capslock) and click through the list of squad members, which shows the selected person in white on the map. This is also useful for finding out who's off in their own happy world somewhere else and not following orders!

Actually, 2142 has BattleRecorder that records the entire round and allows you to replay the round and switch between players. The only drawback is that there's no rewind feature, so it's a bit of a pain to work with.

The other problem with battlerecorder is that it lags the server like someone jumping up and down on someone's throat as they're trying to have a conversation in Klingon. We've tried it in the past and it's been determined that, just like Titan movement, the benefits (which are admittedly great) are still not worth the performance hit. Although, who knows - maybe with the latest patch, it might work as well as it should!

That would indeed be a first.

Someone mentioned a while ago that if you click on a persons character on the minimap their name will black out. So, that might be an easier way to track the bastards.
