This will allow you to make much tighter flips that can help to evade or track enemies. Also it allows for much steeper banking during turns.
When flying always press the c button when you hop in. Not only will this allow you a better view of below but also where your gunner is pointing if you have one, allowing for more kills.
The best thing to do when chasing an evading enemy that is banking to run away, don't try to chase him if you believe he just plans to go full circle. Instead go into a hover and just spin like a top following him as he goes.
The best attack on land vehicles is a diving one. Much better for surprise.
Remember that when strafing to go in a direction that allows for quick cover in case you get emped and such.
Gunships can land near ledges and still shoot from the gunner seat.
TV missiles are the games most powerful yet more difficult weapon to use... Lots of practice here. I have shot down gunships from over hills and such. They never knew what hit them until it was too late.
Always watch your map and listen for people spotting things. As this will save you time in the hunt and may save your teammates lives.
When laggy is targeting you stay near the ground and look for signs of where he is hiding. For instance pass along the side of a building... did the tone go away? that means he is in that direction. With people with sawws in 1.4 even your shields tend to not stop them. I have learned to just land on them or get right above them and bail out. The explosion from the gunship will kill them as long as it lands within a few meters.
The best place to repair in suez is that base far off to the side. You can only use it though if your team has silo 3 capped.
If you are flying toward a transport that you notice 100+m above you, you can flip up and back and shoot him down upside down. I have actually done this with enough momentum that when I missed too much I passed him upside down, did an inverted roll and ended up behind him for the kill. Now that was fun.
Letting off all keys allows you to drop like a brick. Much more useful than hover and it still can allow you to maintain speed.
Never press the hover key while landing; instead use a tapping motion of w to slow your decent. Hovering will just make you crash.
Gunships can make j turns... tilt the nose up and hold a+s or s+d, you can also replace s with w.
You can act like you plan to do a roll but once at 1/4 of the move let off the gas and hold left or right to turn back the other way, once the turn starts hit the gas again to just the gravity to launch you ahead.
Stuff like that.
Good luck.
