And punkbuster keeps kicking me, too, saying i'm "loosing key packets"? Any idea about what this means?

Losing key packets in PB can mean a few things... PB might need updating (that wouldnt cause you to drop frames though). My guess is it is one of two things: your computer is so sluggish that sometimes when the frames drop really bad and your computer is crunching out its work it stops sending packets and then PB times it out. Or, it could be your local network; try it closer to the router. Your frames may not improve but the updates to everyone elses movement (and hence the action of your game) may improve.

You could have a playable FPS with unaplayable lag...

You were running wireless? Try plugging it into the ethernet ports.

Yes it is wireless. Unfortunately, it will not allow me to plug in the computer directly to the net without unplugging one of our other computers. I will have to wait until tonight to try this one. Worth a try I guess tho. It has something to do with the way our home network is set up.

EDIT: Ill try moving closer, maybe that'll help. Otherwise I'll defrag and if that doesn't work im SOL until Dell pulls through for me. Ill have to yell at them say "I want my BF2 to work, HURRY UP!" LOL thanks Soy.

Does anyone think disabling the intro movies and such would help at all here? maybe free up some RAM? Let me know if you think so, please.

Disabling the intro movies frees up a lot of RAM for sure (I think in the neighborhood of 250 mb). For me it mostly helped with the loading time (I think...). But it seems silly to let something like that hog any RAM at all.

Good news. Dell came out and replaced our desktops vid card today. Maybe it'll work, maybe it won't. I hope it does, because i can get 60 fps on high settings on the server on the desktop. Ill try a reinstall late late tonight (like 2am lol)
