Rushing is effective if you know what your doing. I think the reason why people rush in L4D1 more then L4D2 is because in l4d1 there isn't something that can take you away from your team mates and actually control where you go and something that can devastate an entire team.
My opinion is that L4D1 is Easier to rush in vs because you can sometimes easily dodge a hunter tell where a person WILL be if caught by a smoker.
Compared to L4d2 where if it is an open area and someone gets charged off and your by yourself major screw over (this is if the Survivor team is doing the 2 run up and 2 stay behind tactic but can still pwn a cluttered team). And a Jockey can't grab someone and drag them off the edge (same as last except it the 2 on 2 thing)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I said that in reaction to his rushing is stupid comment. I'm assuming he's saying its stupid (considering he already addressed how effective it can be in his first paragraph), because it takes the fun out of the game.
I was simply stating that for some people, winning is what makes the game fun. And comparing cheating and an effective strategy (although deemed "cheap" by some), is not a fair comparison in my eyes. The difference being anyone can rush, it takes a lot of coordination for 4 people to do it at the same time without leaving stragglers behind. You're still obeying rules of the game.

Typical posts from the forum jerks I see.
Yeah I know rushing can be effective when everyone moves together as a team. And no I don't have problems rushing. When I play pub games most of the time I don't feel like speedracing. Or deathracing. I would rather take my time, but still keep a decent pace.
By the way Mike I wasn't talking about you, I'm talking about the pub players you find that always want to rush and leave their teammates behind. That's just deathracing for points. But it's even more annoying when you have a full team rushing together. Even the most coordinated attacks can't stop them.

rushing through campaign is pointless. I love to be able to shop around a bit, especially in Hard Rain where there are so many houses to look through.
the only time my team and I will rush through during a versus match is when winning the game and/or catching up in points depends on us making some distance.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I'm calling zombie bullshit on that

The objective of this game when you're survivor is "get to the safe room". It's not "move slowly but not too slow to make sure the other team gets enough attacks on you, therefore allowing them to have "fun". I don't see why you wouldn't want to get to the safe room ASAP in a versus game. I'd also like to say, boo hoo if you don't let me win i'm going to make a topic complaining about it.

Yeah, sometimes it helps to run a little bit farther when your team is about to die and you could use the extra points, but I still don't see why you can't move a normal pace to start with.
Unless the other team is super good, you should be able to look for items and move at a pace slightly faster than campaign mode but not extreme rushing speed. Maybe the reasons to move faster will become apparent to me as I play versus more...
Anyway I meant to lock this topic....
