All you have to do to pod out of transport is to make it fall backwards and then pod out:

yeah, but you don't have directional control anymore over those pods, its still pretty much just down. Its very difficult to hit a target the size of ...... like those towers behind Silo2 on Suez that people pod from the titan to get to the top of. Don't think you can hit those unless your transport pilot was THAT goog to hover over where you need.

If you can communicate with me, I'll get you there in the transport. I can also use the c button, but you telling me when you're over the target will be better.
