Re: tips on friend or foe
the EU is a lighter 50 gray with the orange sholder pads Pac is 75 gray.
It takes time. A hard thing for me is when I switched to english only for in game radio chat I was really confused as to who I was. Once I knifed BrokenApe when I logged in because he was sniping the direction I was coming from. oops..

I have no trouble I just know what color I am from the army I pick. It may just be me but on my PC friendlies always have blue lettering above their heads enemies have no lettering at all until I point at them. I just look for colors and words and it works.

Heh, don't forget to confuse things further guys.
Northern Strike PAC uniforms are *white*, not black.
Clickslash: when in doubt, hold your aiming reticle over your proposed target for a couple seconds. That gives your targetting computer time enough to get an IFF reading on them.
Normally, (like 90% of the time) anyone with NO text above their heads is an enemy as friendly IFF info is almost always available to your NetBat helmet. HOWEVER, that is not true in every instance. Like I said, when in doubt I hold my aiming on them long enough to make SURE they are an enemy before I launch Bad News their way.
Other than that, you just need to get used to recognizing uniforms at a distance, which is something that only comes with practice. And don't forget what team you're on! I don't know how many times I've blown away a teammate because I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the commander voice was speaking Russian and I lit up a guy in an all black uniform. *sheepish grin* My bad!

For me, the more difficult one is ID'ing the gunships. I think they are reversed when compared to camo colors. Always have to take time out at the beginning to identify whether my team has the darker gunship or the lighter gunship. Just helps to know so when I'm running across a field whether or not I need to whip out the SAAW or keep my little SMG in hand for the more likely contact with ground troops.
You thought headshotting with a pistol was hard, try a body shot with a SAAW. I've only killed like 3 people with direct shots from a SAAW.
