GHOST ZOMBIES (tank arms)
Man, I hate tanks.
I don't mind them at all, but damn. I was playing Expert mode on Dark Carnival, solo, because I was damn bored and didn't want to wait for a game.
I was doing damn good by myself, almost speedrunning, but picking up only what I notice (instead of going into every bathroom) and all that.
So I get towards the end and I noticed a guy has joined my game. "Okay, cool. He's doing all right. Maybe we can get through the first one if he doesn't fuck up."
I was the first one to reach the saferoom. Guess what? Tank.
Thanks, A
I get incapped immediately. I know what you're thinking, "Why didn't you hear it?"
It was a fucking ninja tank. And so I go down, so does the other bots.
The guy who joined made it to the saferoom.
"Nice, I'll just wait until the three of us die and then we can play more!"
No. He decides to stand right next to the saferoom door and gets incapped because the tank can punch through doors and walls.
I left. When there's a tank about like that, you don't stand near the door.
Especially on Expert mode, right? Because if you're able to play expert mode, or have played several games, you should know that tanks can hit through doors and walls.
I just left because he should have known that. I didn't want to replay that same level again.
It's a great game, but you should always get through the first chapter on the first try, even on expert mode.
He disappointed me, but ah well. I'm sure it was a mistake, but I seriously didn't wanna play it again.
Anyone has any stories where you thought you were safe, but then you died?

It happens. I've underestimated the witch's reach a few times. There was:
-Standing on top of a van, she nailed me from ground level, back when I was newer to expert.
-Standing behind a fence, back a couple of paces (knew she could hit through fences, but completely underestimated the range).
-On top of the little shack on Hard Rain right after the elevator. She got pissed off, I jumped up there, and she just reached up from the ground and bitch slapped me dead (realism game).
Each time I had the shotgun and was waiting for her to get into the climbing animation so I could pop a few shells into her brain, but instead I got the nasty surprise.

Ah, yeah. That happens to me. I always avoid the witch. There was one time a guy disturbed her, but the witch killed me instead and ran off. Wtf moment, right?

Ah, I figured. But I had no idea where the hell she was, and I thought I was clear of her, but I guess not. The other guy was in front of me, so yeah, I figured I'd be safe.
Curse Expert mode!
The game is amazing, but there are flaws with it, but the game play makes up for it, doesn't it?

You've also probably noticed that the tank sometimes is able to hit you from what seems like miles away - that's caused by lag. The annoying thing with this game is it is so dependant on folk having decent connections to be able to play properly, yet it handles lag from the inevitable poor connections SO BADLY. You can't do shit on red bar unless you are 100% pro at the game - dead stopping and running from tanks in particular becomes much harder, because the time difference actually means what you are seeing, and what is happening, are two different things!

Yeah. I've dealt with that problem before, but usually I don't. And if I do, I can get by it because I'm good enough to know what to do, from experience. At first, I'd just die right away. But after you deal with it again and again, you get better and just know how to avoid taking damage, so yeah.
