Thread: PR Server and AFK Kicks

I was sitting at the keyboard, moving the turret. Then suddenly the mouse stuck. I furrowed my brow and glanced up to see the 'Kicking: Player Sgt. Atrovenator for AFK' or whatever it says message. It also popped up that punkbuster kicked me for AFK for a minute right after that.

Seriously, stop harping on the IM. I only mentioned it because it was part of the whole story. My friend's little brother's account got hacked and was sending me spam. That's it. I thought the message might have involved a female, I alt+tabbed, saw who it was from and that it was spam and alt+tabbed back. Less than 30 seconds. I was talking to my gunner the whole time.

As to the ping suggestion, it's not bloody likely when I saw the AFK kick message. :/ If you can get kicked sitting in AA, you can probably get kicked sitting in a chinese tank. It's not often that you go 5 minutes without spotting something, using one of the team chat functions or firing. Unless you're playing PR, that is.

Well, this is a very odd case then. If it was an issue of being AFK as a gunner in a turret, I can personally say that I've gone 15 minutes without doing a single thing but sweeping my turret back and forth, wating for action while I defended (no firing, or hitting any buttons. Just straight up mouse action). We would have a lot more kicks for AFK if this was the case. There has to either be something left out in the story, or there is a bug/glitch of some sort. Guessing on from your firm words, I'm saying its the latter.

I'd say forget it. If it happens, reconnect and hope you can get back in a tank. This mod is a work in progress, and peculiar, quirky things are prone to happen once in a while.

I just had the same thing happen to me on "Qinling". It was 3 on 3 and we parked the tank on the hill above the coal mine. My 2 squadmates jumped out to take the mine on foot and I was keeping an eye out in the gunners seat...time went on...we neutralized...I was was watching all possible points for an enemy approach when I was kicked by punkbuster for idle. I was constantly sweeping the turret to several points...
