TF2, is a successful FPS where you are against another team trying to do an objective. What differentiates TF2 to lets say MW2, is that there are specific classes which have advantages and disanvantages.

It's a good buy for PC and somewhat for Xbox, not recommended for PS3.
I wanted you to know, that by reading this signature you have wasted approximately 6.235 seconds of your life.

    What a horrible injustice!

It's more than just "classes". COD2 had "classes".

The difference between the classes is like, black and white. Each class has a role, and usually fails outside that role. They're divided (atleast on the xbox version) into three different classes.

    Offense:

    1) Soldier - He's kind the all-around assault role. In my opinion - he's one of the most plain classes, but arguably, one of the most effective. He has a rocket launcher, dealing splash damage. - Keep in mind this is the exact opposite of a realistic game. A Character can take like 2 shots from a rocket before he dies, and those are direct hits, varying on the class. He can shoot the rocket at his feet to really launch himself in the air, it's so cleverly named "rocket jumping". see:YouTube - TF2 Rocket Jumping 101: Part One

    2) Pyro - he's a guy in a flame retardant suit, who goes around with a flamethrower, basically just lighting everything on fire. His job is to basically ambush the other team. Wait around corners, then just rush in and light everyone on fire. His other role is to find enemy spies - we'll discuss that later.

    3) Scout - He's weak but extremellllyyyy fast. He's the fastest player in the game and can jump twice. Ie: he can change direction of his jump mid air or jump twice to gain extra ground. He also captures "nodes" twice as fast. Ie: he'll cap at the same speed of 2 other classes combined.

    Defense:

    4) Demoman - He's a black one eyed scottish man. Hes sort of like the Soldier except he gets a grenade launcher and a sticky grenade launcher. This is useful for shooting explosives around corners, really good for killing sentries/campers. His other grenade launcher is a sticky grenade launcher which launches up to 8 grenades that sticks to the wall/ground whatever - and then can explode it whenever he wants with right click/trigger.

    5) Heavy - A gigantic man who weilds a mini-gun. He has tons of health and his chain gun is devasting close and semi-effective at mid range. He has a draw back though - his gun is inaccurate and he is REALLY slow, especially while firing his gun.

    6) Engineer - The camping class. They don't really have a weapon besides a shotgun. They're main appeal is they get to build a sentry gun, that automatically shoots at any enemy that passes it. They can upgrade it to 3 levels. YouTube - Meet the Sentry - Recut (Team Fortress 2 machinima)

and dispensers heal/give team mates ammo

    Support:

    7) Medic - He heals people. and if he builds up enough points, he can "ubercharge" them, making them invulnerable to damage for 10 seconds or so.

    8) Sniper - He snipes people. Not much too much. If he stays scoped in, the bullet 'builds' power. ie: a charged up shot will kill a scout in one shot to the body, but to do so quickscoping would require a headshot.

    9) Spy - he can become invisible for a certain period of time, however he can't shoot or knife people. He is really weak in direct combat. However - if you stab someone with a knife from behind, it's an automatic kill no matter how much health they have. They can also disguise themselves as the enemy team, wearing a costume. One of the few ways to tell if your team mate is a spy is through little details (i'm not going to go through every way you can spycheck) but the most blatant is there isn't any Friendly fire in TF2, so if you light your team mate on fire, and he bursts into flames - he's a spy.

The spy is also a direct counter to the sentry - using a "sapper" which when placed upon any electric device, is rendered disabled and will take damage until it explodes.

    PHEWW. Okay, essay done.
