Helo Lag

I finally got on PR the other day only to leave incredibly frusturated. Anytime I hopped into a chopper to pilot it, I experienced unplayable lag. I know my machine can handle PR no problem so that is not an issue. Has anyone else experienced this?

I heard a group of guys talking about it the other day. They said to change your sound card settings in the controls of PR to hardware. I did this and haven't had that type of lag since.

For me hardware was causing the unplayable issues. I switched to software and haven't had a problem. From what I've read it's something to do with the compression on the new weapon/vehicle sounds. Quite possibly the chopper blades are creating performance issues as they play through their sound loop? I tend to get it in situations where I'm in a vehicle that is playing a persistent sound. Firing the 50 cal on tanks also seems to do it to me.

Battle for Qinling, Transport Helo? I can fly any where else with anything (though I have not tried flying to be honest) and I have had no problems except on this map with the British Transport Helo.

Was this a similar problem Elk?

Anyone here frequent their forums? Is that something that has been coming up?

I only go to their site and correct their wiki. My latest revision was they claimed there was AT when it should have said AA. So any who...something popping up there similar to our problem?

Yeah, its a known issue for that maps transport chopper. Sometimes it works, sometimes it lags so hard no one can fly it.

Not really so. The problem presented was the servers lagging. We proved that it is not the map, but the poor quality of servers out there. Our server is one of the Best and stands tall over the rest of them.

As far as Flying on the map goes, it is simular to PB taking SS's of players when they first take off. You have to take it slow and easy starting off. You will feel the SS's take place initially and after that, it is easy sailing.

Also, You have to let those choppers warm up and run for a second or two after you think they are warmed up... Take it slow and easy and after the SS's, You are good to go.

You experience it more when you are in Aircraft. It did the same thing in V. 05 with the A10.

You could lift off the Runway and then you need to make a dive but don't go to low because on the first dive, it is as if SS's take place and after that, You can be the aggressive Dare Devil and will not experience the SS's again.
