Re: I think I should rename myself to " target drone"
Click, I know EXACTLY how you feel. I have the odd great game but spend most of the time getting owned by lots of folks on this board. I'm having trouble with the aiming too... just like you describe - I come up behind a couple of guys... get within about 3 meters and open up on them (bursts, not shower)... guy spins around and I get killed and don't take out either of them. Last night the shotguns were in full force. Had people coming around the corner killing me so fast I hardly even saw them.
As for Assault weapons, I like the Bauer right now but the Voss works well too. I can get a little more accuracy with the Bauer over longer distances (I know... I'm Assault not Sniper). I've gotten a couple of 1 shot kills for 80 meters or so. Mostly I just end up annoying them and sending them for cover which I think can be helpful too.
The biggest thing I've gotten from here is to use the mini-map. Another thing I'm figuring out is keep moving (on Assault and Engineer). I used to stay in one spot trying to get the shot and would always get caught by someone who saw me and snuck up behind me. Now I try to attack and move.
I hope I'm getting better and really enjoy the game (most of the time) but I always do much better in a good squad.

And remember where you're at.
What I mean by that is this server has MANY people with alot of talent and experience. Seriously, if you ever get to feeling you are average on this server then take a round off and go to any other random server and you'll own.
You'll also notice that when you're part of a cohesive teamplayer squad on TTP it's almost as if you can do no wrong.

Just wait till you try SLing and Commanding, people will follow your orders (if not Admins will kick ass). You might say right now, "There's no way I'll ever do either on this server. I'm just not good enough," but in a month or two when you're a finally honed (virtual) killing machine, you'll think differently. Just command once with a reg to guide you (ask and you will be helped) and watch the points roll in as you do a good job. The commander bonuses on small maps like Gibraltar will get you in the commanding mood especially as you realize that the more you improve, the higher that bonus goes.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Re: I think I should rename myself to " target drone"
I think the problem with me getting right next to someone then shooting them only to have them turn and fire and win that little battle, I understand better.. its the fire power.. I'm usually a engineer and that gun just plan sucks ugly donkey parts. its like shooting peas at a fright train. I started using the assault kit more this weekend but its still no match for most of you with shot guns and stuff like that. so on titan D I have been coming in as support, much more fire power but harder to control.. but winning more one on one battles.
something I have noticed is, no matter what kit I have its the wrong one for that time in the game.. sometimes I come in as assult and what do you know .. a walker shows up. I come in as an engineer and guess what everyone in my squad gets killed and I cant revive them.. even on titan d.. the engineer kit can be handy sometimes when you need one shot one kill and to not be visable for very long or you get zapped. poke your head out shoot and duck for cover.
I'm still losing my life 4 to 1 but thats better than it was. and a lot of that is not because of something I did wrong but someone camping spawn points, or air strikes, or the transport I'm on gets shot down.. some of that I have little control over. I mean if mean if a SL tells you to spawn there and you get waxed 3 times in a row, along with everyone else that spawning there... I actually think that is not cool. camping a spawn point is actually the real definition of camping. really the honorable thing to do is shoot the spawn beakin.. isnt it? maybe thats a thread all by its self huh..
and DJ, I think I would like to run a squad.. I actually think I would be good at it once I know the maps and objectives better.

Practice and persistence are your two greatest allies. As has been said listen, observe, and ask for help from those around you. The wealth of knowledge on can gain from a few rounds with a squad on TTP cannot be overstated.
On the battlefield information is key. The fog of war must be dispersed. Be aware of the situation of the battlefield, know the key points on the map, and why they're important. Get into the habit of bringing up your map frequently to check the over all situation.
Once you get the hang of these things don't stop there . Tride and true tactics can become stale and predictable, and thus easily countered. Always be looking to try something new in a given situation, who knows you maybe able to catch that hardened squad of moderators completely by surprise.
Become formless, and one can conqueror heaven itself.

Hey Click, don't feel bad. I have the same problems as you and I've been at this a while(I should change my name to Purple Heart King). That little engineer gun is real tough if your up close to the enemy. That little gun has a faster rate of fire than the other guns but watch your ammo because if you run out in a fight it wont matter how fast it cycles.
