Re: Military experience... got any?
My application's away to the army here in Canada, to sign on as crewperson in one of our new Leo 2's. Hopefully I get into the regiment of my choice. I'm a good driver in PR, and have racked up most of my time driving the tank. I've also read damn near every bit of armoured movement/fighting tactical information I can get my hands on. But, that's driving the tank. Don't know much about IFVs generally. A bit too soft for my tastes.

Re: Military experience... got any?
There's another thread hereabouts. I set up my wingman wheel/pedal set to operate the vehicle. Running off the keyboard was pretty cheesy.
As to limited view, I fully support and advocate the removal of the driver cam and the introduction of buttonable armour.
Positions would work like this:
Driver: Limited view, fixed-forward port allowing him/her to see only what's in front of the vehicle.
Gunner: Left as is, except that hull rotation no longer affects turret positioning. Bumping up and down on the vertical will mess with the gun's accuracy, but it should be possible to take an accurate shot while driving over flat terrain.
Commander: Gets the swivel-camera currently implemented for drivers, and can issue move-orders with said camera. Normally a buttoned position, but for ease of movement, can also jump up on the 50 when not under fire/threat. I'm going to finish my comprehensive writeup on armour and post it to the PR boards when I get the chance.
Oh, and the tanks are way too slow too. Need another 15-20kph at least. The ability for the gunner/commander to laser designate would be awesome, too. It'd ramp up the level of armoured/air combat coordination allowing a gunship to effectively hover over and cover for advancing armour. A dream would be allowing the MBT cannon to auto-align to laser-marks, turning gunnery into the high-tech affair it really is.
And yeah, I have a buddy already in the Lord Strathcona's Horse here, and he's informed me of how piss-poor track repair is.

Re: Military experience... got any?
The cool thing about BF2 is that they have the same type of bradley i was once a crewmember on which is the air defence version (M6 bradley linbacker). In actuallity the bradley can shoot on the move which largely makes it the killing machine that it is (slue to cue). I know a little about the M1 abrams but as far as the bradley there are 4 crewmembers... a driver, gunner, TC (track commander) and a ammo loader. The view for the driver if youve every seen it are little ports that go around the hatch so the TC does most of the navigation telling the drive to go left, right, foward, back and so forth. To make the bradley more realistic in the PR Mod i think allowing the TC to take control of the guns at any time would be good.
