Can someone tell me the rules of the almighty chatbox that many of our users flock to these days? A few people have messaged me that they are extremely butthurt over something that happened in there a few times, but every time I try to swoop to the rescue I realise it was over two or so hours ago. So any action I take would just seem entirely insane.

Ive been harassed (legitamately, not sexual innuendos) many many times, many many moons ago. I was even staff back then. I did nothing more than bitch about it (constantly. sorry about that). You know what they did?

I just sat and cried in my bowl of apple jacks, ignored the person, and plotted revenge involving barbed wire and someones scrotal sac...

These kids need to grow the fuck up & or grow a pair. We arent babysitters.
If they seriously cant handle being and acting mature, we ban them from the chat box

Yeah, Emma got it in one. For the most part, the forum rules apply. If you catch someone in the act of being a dick, don't hesitate to tear merry hell out of them.
On the other hand, if you get a second or third hand report of something that happened a couple of hours previously, check it out and see how bad it is. Unless it's really something unacceptable, just make a mental note and move on - if you want to send the offender a quiet PM reminding them not to be such a fuckball and that the chatbox is a privilege and not a right, and that you have both the means and the inclination to withdraw said privilege if they don't stow it, by all means do so.

Of course, if someone's consistently being a complete prick, or two or more people are either continuously fighting and/or going over the top, feel free to exercise your right to swing that banhammer. Just remember to unban them once it expires, as there's no 'timed ban' feature - we have to remember to lift it.

In fact, it'd probably make sense to put something in the staff forum about it, both as an aide memoire and a heads up to the others.

Anyway, tl;dr version - use your judgement. You're staff because we trust your ability to make the right decisions, and thus we'll back you to the hilt if someone starts Q_Qing.

Did someone ban Cinder from the cbox? Not that I'm objecting in the slightest (other than you got to have the fun and not me), but it helps if we know who's done what so we're not all at cross purposes.
