Herding cats

I'll be glad once spring break is over and the regs return in stronger force. I was commander a few rounds on the main server tonight and I think I would have had an easier time herding cats than getting some of these idiots to follow orders. So it goes.

Re: Herding cats
I usually scream out ADMIN!!!!!! when I find people that aren't squadding up, lone wolfers (running squads with just them in it as a disguise), and fighting commanders. I generally don't see anything done about it, though. Maybe they just don't see the chat message amid all the other spam from people calling out hostiles with the commorose.
It'd be easy if there was an ma_chat for Battlefield

Indeed last night was a frustrating night for the three rounds that I played. I was forced to go commander on the second round of Gibraltar on the Top 5 (Frag, I think this is the time you were talking about, did the match end 60 something to 0?) And I handed out orders and such, repaired all my assets because the bozos on the other team decided not to blow up my ever so helpful tools. My squads followed their orders for the most part, we were coherent for a while, each of us doing a job worthwhile, and we ended up winning. Next was Highway Tampa. I joined a squad for a bit, but noticed 5 minutes in that no one had yet applied for commander, so I leave the squad and apply. I give out orders, some of them followed, some of them blown off. There were a couple of mini-squads out there and that got me a little angry. Otherwise the team did most of the job they were told to do, and we won 100 something to 0. The next round I didn't command at all, someone took up the job, but he was driving around in an APC. He wasn't doing enough to make me call him out as a fighting commander though, but I guarantee you, he wasn't handing out orders or giving us UAV's where they counted. He didn't even drop one orbital.
On a side note, I ran Frag over with a tank, and Frag managed to knife me unnecessarily. Oh well, teach me to be zealous with the flags."In matters of style, swim with the currents... in matters of principle, stand like a rock."

Re: Herding cats
IMO, if the commander isn't actively participating by giving squad leaders intel and responding to requests for UAVs, supplies, and orbitals, he is a fighting commander and should kicked if not banned. People need to learn to read the fucking rules, and what's more - actually follow them.
Same thing for the assfucks that make their own little squads, kick out anyone that joins, and then proceed to do whatever the fuck they want, regardless of what the commander and team need them to be doing. Same as lone wolfing, as far as I'm concerned.
