    Coworker having sound/mic issue.

Hey, one of my coworkers is having an issue playing. Either he can hear the game, or hear the mic chatter/use his mic. but not both. Anyone have an idea what setting would be off? I've never had that issue, so I don't know where to begin. He's got an Audigy 2 sound card, so it should be more than capable..
    Thanks
    Brian

I would start with making sure the drivers for the sound card are up to date, second is he using a headset, if so it could be defective (had that happen to me with logitec, only my mic would work unitill i wiggled the wire then i could hear music till i moved the wire.) its a start

Definitely check what anima said...I also had problems with a bad front panel connector once. Sound/mic would cut-out when plugged into the front panel of the PC, but worked fine when plugged directly into the card...

Ask if he's got an X-FI card. I have an Xtreme Music card, and often, after some time, my mic will go out (and the icon won't appear when I hit the VOIP buton). If I go into the sound settings and test the mic, it will still pick up, and will show that it's working, but then, when I go back into the game, my sound is off. A restart is the only solution.

Audigy 2 doesn't do Xfi unfortunately. I have a ZS Notebook; whenever I have sound issues, it generally takes a full uninstall of the creative drivers AND software, and then a reinstall.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
