Why does no one like Commanding?
Just curious as to why there is usually no commander? I've tried it a few times and I am still learning. I guess if I jump on a server and there is no commander, I will jump in the hot seat. Can't hurt.
Just pisses me off, when I do, someone instantly initiates a mutiny.

Re: Why does no one like Commanding?
I have seen many battles go south for one side just because they had no commander. My personal feeling is even if you are not an experienced commander but you are doing your best, it is better than no one jumping in at all. And if someone with more experience wanted to do commander they should have stepped up sooner. Of course all that goes back to communication and teamwork.

Re: Why does no one like Commanding?
when i go commander the toughest thing i have to do is get somebody or people to come with me in the command truck and build a bunker.. i waited for like 10 mins yesterday before i finally got like 5 guys and we built a bunker. but by then in kashan the mec had already capped the north village to it was almost over. then i got team switched again... and it was basically over within 15 mins.

Re: Why does no one like Commanding?
I've commanded in Single player mode just so I can get the hang of it...
Personally, I seem to like commanding...it gives the game that "command & conquer" feel....and I'm good at those games.
Also, it keeps you and your mouse busy.....but tell me this..
.
As a commander, you should basically try and stay stationary, and issue orders, right?
When I command, I just go hide somewhere and call in UAV after UAV, then continuously zoom in and out on locations identifying where the enemy is. Then, when I see we're at a chokepoint, I'll usually drop a supply box near there and try and drop a vehicle a little behind my groundpounders.
Then, I only call in artillery strikes if a SL asks me for one or if I see we've recently lost a post.
Am I getting the gist of this?

One could be written for the article section. ***Hint Hint***nudge nudge***cough cough*** I wouldn't mind reading it for when I pick up BF2 for PR and those heat rounds I've heard so much about from Commander. I certainly intend to command some. Commanders can make or break a battle either by doing their job or not doing it/not existing.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

Remember that a commander gets no points for kills or flag captures in game as this isnt as important for him/her as 'the big picture'. Many commanders are the ones that begin construction of assets themselves. I tend to be the 'squad on the spot' as far as asset building and requests when I play under a competent commander. Sometimes the placement of a bunker or firebase is key for winning the round.
