Game crashes to desktop

I was on the conquest server last night playing under Brinkwolf and after a couple of games my game crashed to the desk top after the round ended and started loading the new map. i tried to get back on but everytime I would crash to the desk top again(even after rebooting a couple times still didn't work). I finally decided to try one of my other names(Razorwolf a base line solider) and I was able to play again. Any ideas what's up with this?

You may need to delete your game cache. It sounds to me like your profile name got corrupted and it won't load properly now. Its worth a try, I was crashing two or three times a night and have done this per Wilecyte suggestion and I have yet to CTD since.

7] Every so often I go through bouts of Crash to Desktops (CTDs). Aside from the other suggestions above, what's another thing to try and/or do every so often?

Also from this thread you may want to try and delete your radial file.

it did this once for me...and I believe laggy too...

tried logging in and it just wouldn't work for angellmajick, tried another soldier name and it loaded no problem. Signed out and back in and it worked with angell again. It was weird.

This has worked for me in th past too. That annoying little voice that explains every weapon to you starts all over but at least you can play again.

2142 installs a profile folder I think in the "My Documents" folder. You'll have to delete this folder. All your info is stored on the EA master servers so you won't lose any ranks, unlocks, etc.

Then when you start up 2142 again it will make a new folder in the same place. You might have to rebind your keys if you changed them from the default. And check your options before you jump on a server.

I've had to do this twice now. Annoying but really no big deal. Hope this helps.

Another bad part of using a different soldier is my reserve spot is for brinkwolf only. So I can get bumped from the server by another reservist while using this soldier.

its just temporary...log in a different soldier into a server
and disconnect then go back to your main one
