Lost BF2 CDs to Reinstall

Ok just installed a new Raptor Drive on my PC. I have my main BF2 boot up CD that I use to play BF2, but I have lost my other 2-3 CDs and key code to reinstall BF2 on my new hard drive. If I was to go and buy me another copy of BF2, once installed can I log-in using my old username and password? Or will I have to start my rank all over?

As long as you know your old password you can use your old account.

Civil's correct. There's an option under the "Manage Accounts" where you can retrieve the account your looking for.

well.. isnt your CD-Key linked to your account.. i remember i had a #($()@ of a time getting my Armored Fury to work because something to do with the key and account not matching up..

That's only with the EF/AF boosters. Actually, EF/AF don't ask for a key to install, you just need to register the key with your account to play online.

I have similar problem but all I lost was my CD key. Is there a location in the original install where the CD key is recorded? Like a readme file or setting folder or something like that?

It's in your registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ergc

Your CD key is everything after x9392.

I don't know if you will be able to use that. You are correct that in the registry it is saved but it is encrypted. Try it and see if it works. But to install it you will need the unencrypted key...

The only other thing that I see that has not been mentioned that is only a pain in the back side is that you will have to either copy your profile from your other computer where you played BF2 or have to deal with the annoying speaker telling you that this is your teams equipment...

I remember reading that it was encrypted also after 1.3 and was thinking the same wild. I checked just to see and the key in the registry matches mine. I have mine in a file on my computer since I lose/misplace stuff a lot.
