Howdy BF2142 squad

Actually, something I was trying the last two nights with some success......

Our own US Army does this.... I was hovering the gunship off on the fringes of the battlefield and letting my gunner send the TV missiles along their merry way. Hovering lower so no long range lockons from those sorry ass SAAW gunners or walkers.

If no enemy anti-air opposition, I was creeping forward and letting the gunner go to town on the infantry running around. I'm keeping my eye open for the enemy air and approaching armor, which the vehicle sonar I always throw on whatever vehicle I am in was picking up beautifully.

Only problem is, I suck as a pilot, stupid trees sprouting up in the middle of the battlefield immediately fully grown when they weren't there 10 seconds before. What's up with THAT ? ? Getting better though, nearly up to a .8 K/D ratio in gunships.

Still.....1500+ gunships destroyed and THAT does indeed make me happy.

Oh, and also.... I've been using the gunship as a high speed taxi. Having my squad spawn on me and I'd drop them off at various silos around the map since we were underpopulated for a long time last night. It seemed to work, we started flipping silos faster after I had a person or 2 at 3 different silos at the same time.

I still prefer the fat dragon. Last time BBhos and I did that on Remagen, the 2 walkers, multiple engies some with SAAWs, and the AA emplacement near Military weren't enough to stop us. I just let the thing hover so BB had a stable firing platform and occasionally threaded the needle between the skyscrapers.

Just remember, a tank doesn't have to be close to kill a gunship that hovers.

Frag Taxis his squad all the time. It's kinda convenient to get places, but it leaves the squad leader out of the fighting. Especially when there are lower numbers of players, you can't afford to leave someone out of the fighting.

Yeah...even tanks have been cutting in to the SAAW action due to this ;P

When I taxi I use the gunship really, keeping the air clear and providing fast and quick area placement for my squad. 8)
