It is soooo effective. Take the little tower just North of Toll on Gibraltar. You know how there will always be a few infantry there? 1 orbital kills the guys there and anyone who tries to climb up and rez. You can also use the EMP strike to soften up a target for a rush since it screws over the views and NetBat of anyone that it hits, or if you have one to spare, you can place right on the enemy commander who can be found by right-click spotting. He/She will be the white dot that shows up.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

I like to drop arty somewhat behind the enemy and send them running into our squads that are dug in with a solid defense. It is also great for softening up a point ahead of your advancing troops. Or (combined with an emp strike) taking out those pesky walkers.

Titan is the way to go. It is a little more of a committment since in a conquest game, you can have a killer squad that mops up the other team and compensates for the rest of the team.
In Titan, everyone has to do their job. Titan is a more enjoyable win for me.

I'm not sure if it's been stated before, so please excuse my ignorance. How come TTP doesn't just make a rule like "commanders don't move the titan past the first silo, or be kicked". At least that way it would help to defend one silo and allow players to use the titan guns more often. From what I hear the titan lag only occurs when the two titans are in visual range.

Moving the titans causes lag anytime it's moved. There is a lot more lag when they are close, but it still happens quite severely for lower end/older PCs even on small moves.

Re: Quick new guy question
AH HA! So what would be considered lower end/older pc. I'm running a 3 year old rig at max video, and only see lag when all the players from both teams are in the same area and an orbital strike has been deployed. Usually conquest. Just curious, may want to update pc soon.
