    Dear Dark,

I apologize for sticking my big nose into your personal business. When a guest's stay in your home goes from weeks to months, a red flag should fire in your head. To avoid bigger problems, and take said named guess out of their comfort zone (your house) sit down, have a meeting, and discuss an end date for the situation. To take an optimistic point of view, we all perform better when the task isn't open ended and a deadline looms.

Like a dead cat in the basement, the problem doesn't usually get better until it is dealt with. If WOW is involved, consider a 5 day deadline. People have been known to ignore RL when WOW comes into the picture, (3rd party unconfirmed intel),

    Look forward to your return.

Question Successfully Passwording L4D2 Rented Gameserver?

    Good morning,

I wonder if anyone has any ideas on how to get my L4D2 rented gameserver passworded successfully.

When I try to password my server by adding the line sv_password "<password here>" to server.cfg, it seems to down the gameserver. (i.e., big red bar in HLSW; cannot connect.)

Removing the line and restarting seems to result in the gameserver coming back online. (i.e., big green bar in HLSW; can successfully connect.)

    Bit of a strange one.

I wonder if there is any way to successfully get the gameserver passworded and running?

    Any thoughts are much appreciated.
