If so, it may see an unauthorized modification to your EA download manager and keep it from launching correctly. All of these things are hard to troubleshoot without having my hands on it to see it.

If all else fails and you wish to try some assistance over X-Fire let me know. Alot of these guys + Dusty can vouch for my friendliness as well as patience.
    Done that too.

I will attempt to uninstall BF2 and download manager and reinstall it and see.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll give you an update on this and maybe I'll have to meet you on xfire Bravo.

    Re: EA Download Manager! GRRRRR!

    OMG this is weird!

I started to save my profiles to somewhere else, I didn't remove anything in my files. Then before I was going to uninstall, I decided to give it another try (positive thinking). I clicked on my BF2 desktop icon to launch the game and the error message appeared again, (I'm like frick a frack EA frack a frick!!!).... then I logged in to the EA download manager and POOF! I had this Welcome recruit blah blah blah. So I had a choice to retrieve my account or create a new one. So I retrieve my account and VOILA! I'm still Gunnery Sergeant and I'm able to see the multiplayer and all the rest! YAY! So now I will try to join the server and see how it goes.

This experience is like removing drugs to an addict. Since I don't do drugs, Battlefield 2 is my only drug. DON'T TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME EA!!!

Again I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to all for your help.

Now hopefully everything will be fine.

    Re: EA Download Manager! GRRRRR!

EA needs a lot of work on their downloadable content. If it can be purchased on physical media, I always opt that when it's EA. Anything available on Steam just works, but EA Download Manager sucks. I purchased the 2 BF2 and the 2142 battle packs via EA DM and made very sure to back up the installer files so I never again had to install or use EA DM. Now it's a moot point because I purchased the BF2 Complete Collection DVD and the 2142 Deluxe Edition so I don't ever have to hassle with EA downloaded content again (minus patches.)
