I've been gone - little help?

So, I've been gone a while, dealing with school and things, but with graduation coming up, i expect to have more free time. I tried playing yesterday, and was assaulted by pings up above 250. I'm currently running down leads on my end, like routers and ports and things, but i was wondering if there have been any changes in the servers since i stopped playing (mid march) also, did the 1.5 patch introduce lag for anyone else?

Hey there father - looking forward to seeing you back in the servers. As for lag - I do not believe that the patch added any additional lag (that I've seen). Others may have a different observation regarding that. Other than that, the servers have changed hosts (though I'm pretty sure that was prior to March so that should also be a non-issue).

I hope that you get it figured out.

depends, how long have you been gone? The servers have not had any location or other changes other than the 1.5 patch going on 6+ months now.

I've been pinging at 53 since I started playing TTP about a year and a half ago. The server migration at the beginning of the year didn't even change a thing for me. No added lag either. Hope to see you back in the game soon.

I have had worse lag than ever since 1.5

I am having nights where I can not control my sprint. It might (20% ish chance) start to sprint when I tell it, but it doesn't stop when I let off the key. and then I can't sprint again until it is fully refilled and then it becomes a 20% ish chance every time I hit the key again.

Also last weekend I had a game I could not Strafe in. I 1st noticed in a hover tank that I had no control left to right. I was fighting facing down hill and my tank would slowly drift ahead and to the right. I could correct the ahead part but not the drift to the right. do to this uncorrectable drift I had to keep aiming further and further to the left to see my targets. Eventurally I had to turn tail on my enemy and drive up hill and start again. Did that 3 times before a gun ship put me out of my misery.

That is when I notieced I could not strafe on foot either. Ever try fighting with out strafing? OMG

Both occurances I noticed I had increased lag. To the point I lost connection to the server soon after the strafing issue.

Never had problems like this before 1.5

I have also had lots of lag since the 1.5 patch. But it isn't just with TTP, it is with every server.

well in that case I stand corrected - I personally have not seen an increase in lag (certainly not one that makes things unplayable) though I have been out of action for almost a week.

Ok, then it seems that it's either 1.5 or on my end. I've never pinged great to TTP, but 80-100 was the norm in the past. I'll keep testing things i guess, and hope for the best. If i come up with a fix for the 1.5 stuff, I'll post it.
