It's dead, Jim.
Going to be building a new computer soon, since it looks like my old one's finally decided to go ahead and die on me. Seems there was enough dust left inside after I cleaned it out to create a static charge, and that static charge fried a few components of the motherboard - primarily Ethernet and USB - though it seems to have left the processor, hard drives, and videocard untouched. I may repair it later so I can have two computers, but for now I'm just going to build a new one.
Since I built the old one almost six years ago, I'd have to replace nearly everything in it (except for the newer of the two hard drives and maybe the power supply, which is the third I've had to get for the goddamned thing) since AGP is no longer the standard for video cards.
Depending on how much I get from my economic stimulus thingie - I'm expecting about $600, but not more since I have no children that I'm aware of (and if I do have any, Trojan owes me money) - I'll probably have my new rig up and running in two or three months.
Adsartha, this means more delays. Sorry.
Rest of you guys, enjoy your reprieve from my constant bitching about how 2142 isn't close enough to UT for my liking :P

Re: It's dead, Jim.
Yeah, three months if I have to save up for it. If my economic stimulus thingie is enough, I may have a new rig inside of two or three weeks. Apparently I can't see how much it'll be on the IRS website until about a week before it's sent, so I guess I won't know until sometime next week.
Whether or not I build it myself or get a BigDog Box depends on how much shipping's gonna cost me. UPS is pretty cheap, only about $34 for the parts from NewEgg, though. FedEx wants $87 for the same three-day shipping - I have no effing clue why.
