He wasn't cheating man. It just so happens that when you log into BFHQ sometimes it wont show your true rank. If you aren't paying attention it's real easy to login to a server and start gaming then see awards flying across the board. You'll be like, hell yeah, then you look over at your rank in game to find that it's f'd up and not reporting correctly.

As a matter of fact I had it happen to me last week. I took the commander role, and halfway through the round I had a command badge show up. I was like huh?, wth, after the round I was over I noticed I wasn't able to select my weapon unlocks and was showing up as a freaking private. Needless to say, I'd much rather have my rank and weapon unlocks, than be reported as being a damn private again.

Only way to remedy the problem is to shut down BF2 and restart it. SIGH

You're lucky to get the commander spot!

I had rank bug last time I played, applied for commander a number of times, I was SOL. Then one round on wake, I mutinied the commander and an admin said "HAIRY YOU'D BETTER TAKE COMMAND IF THIS MUTINY GOES THROUGH" and I was laughing cause - ya right, if it goes through and I have rank bug, the same guy will probably get the chair again.

It's always nice getting basic badges though, better than a kick in the pants or a purple heart if you suck badly enough.

On a side note, I was puzzled by that admin message...anyway, I'm prolly still a noob on this server.

If you think the commander is so bad you need to mutiny him/her then you better be prepared to step up and do a better job. Any commander is USUALLY better than no commander.

Yeah, I gathered that, hence why I mutinied him.
