Will try. I FINALLY got on to the TTP server today. It's definitely past bedtime now, but that's ok Fun times. Even if I did get blown up, sniped, and run over WAAAAAY too many times. If I start out on the team on the right tab, I can't switch to the left tab team. Ah well, minor gripe. If you see Lin_JeLi running around like an idiot, dying all over the place... that'd be me! I really need to figure out what all the different weapon and vehicle names are so that I can figure out I die each time... so I can avoid it next time :P

as noted, you can switch sides, but only when the teams are numerically unbalanced...but the teams switch sides between rounds, so you get to play from both sides each map, so you really don't need to switch teams unless you were trying to play with someone in particular.

as far as joining a squad before spawning, you can do that as well. at the top tabs where you see you can select teams, your spawn point and kit, right below the teams tabs there are two tabs "kit" and "squad"...just select the squad tab to bring up/switch over to the squad create/join (the "kit" tab has the kit/weapon selection)...or you can just hit the mini-map/squad key (default should be "caps lock" i think...and if/when you start squad leading and/or commanding, you can issue orders on that screen too via right-clicking).

as far as general tips...shooting at people is the easy part, so try to learn the maps (flag names, etc) and uniforms (usmc have the lighter uniforms, mec/pla have the darker ones...plus you can tell by their faces if you're close enough ) first...then its easier to know who/what/when/where to shoot :P and if it wasn't obvious and/or you hadn't figured it out, only your squadmates can hear you over voip, so try to hang out with the green dots/name tags as much as possible

Get a reservist spot Jeli, then you'll never have to wait in line again to get on the TTP Vanilla server. :9

Yes, second RV's suggestion. A reserve slot is good for you, and good for this community.

Additionally, I have news for you. After a solid year of playing on TTP's BF2 server, I still find myself overwhelmed at times. I have been playing BF2 since it came out, but only really seriously playing since coming to TTP. I know the game pretty well. I still get my ass kicked on here all the time.

The talent is top notch, its enough to really piss you off sometimes. The people take this game seriously, and every round they are out to save the world. I would have quit playing this game by now if it wasn't for these folks.

Yeah, I was referring to picking a side when I first join the game. Somehow I can't seem to click the left tab, though I think it managed to work just once.

That's helpful. I have a fair bit of trouble with this, since BF players aren't clad in comic-looking red and blue frocks for me :P Unfortunately, I also have the problem of getting shot/blown up from far away...and I die without even knowing what hit me. I guess I better start learning weapon names, so I can at least get an idea of what happened. ^^"

I've been thinking about getting a reserve slot, but I think I might need to wait on that a little bit. :P
