Seriously, I play them both and would like to do more 2142 ... never had too much fun at 2142, but I haven't done that at TTP yet.
Anyway, Civil just about got it.  Whenever I play BF2 its like ... well almost like CS ... nearly a fragfest on steroids with a twist.  Of course, I still prefer BF2 to CS.  It is no wonder I like Dragon Valley (save the folks in the sky) because that map tends to spread and slow the action down a little ... far more strategy in that map.  I'd love to see it in PR.
Now PR CAN suck hard when you don't have teamwork.  While BF2 lends itself to rambo squads/players (because the game can still be played and even won this way), PR does not.  If you are not a teamplayer, then you are worthless in PR.  If you are on a team without a Commander and no coordination/teamwork between squads then PR can put the suck in sucktastic.
As for laying around pulling grass/daisies ... well, if you are in my squad you aren't doing your job.  Besides, in PR we have better daisy cutters ... no need to waste a valuable member of the team on lawn work.  I will give you that PR is not the relentless fragfest littered with periodic explosive rainstorms, but it has often given me a rush that BF2 never could and never will.
I'd love to get more of the BF2 regs on the PR server.  I know the intensity and skill would continue to ratchet up as a result.  We've got great teamplayers on both servers.
BF2 = skrimishes
PR = full scale battles
I'll still have great fun playing both games.  Teamwork is what I love most and as long as I have a team to play with, I'll have fun on PR or BF2 (PR still better though  ).My goal is to succeed in any mission - and live to succeed again.
God grant that I may not be found wanting, that I will not fail this sacred trust.

There's plenty of waiting knives for you in the future. It's funny. I became a better BF2 player because of 2142. The pace of 2142 is a little faster and more frantic than BF2 (Although not so much with only 48 players vs 64). I was a pretty average BF2 player before 2142, but after I played 2142 for 6 months or so, I found myself being a lot better BF2 player.

I went back to Vanilla for a few games and it was enjoyable at first, then i tried it today and I rediscovered the Claywhores and Bugs Bunny wannabes, its enough to make me wanna switch back to PR in a matter of 4 minutes :P
