Kicked twice
My husband and I tried to play bf2 tonight- he hadn't updated punkbuster so it kicked him at first- afterwards twas fine. But both of us were kicked by an admin (no clue why). Anyhow Bloops & BettyCrocker*1 are our names, we will have same IP but might enjoy playing on server in future so just to let you know thanks!

Re: Kicked twice
Welcome to you and your husband! I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay once we get these kinks worked out. If you were kicked by an admin, it would give you a reason other than Punkbuster. The most frequent cause for a kick by an admin is due to squadplay/teamplay. Make sure you and your husband promptly join or create a squad when you connect to TTP. We try for the highest level of teamplay and communication possible, so this is one ways the server's standards are kept high.
But yes, PB does stink and has been stinking for quite some time. You stated you updated your PB client, were you using this link? http://websec.evenbalance.com/downlo...ws/pbsetup.zip
This will automatically download the newest available PB files and apply them automatically.
Good luck and welcome to TTP! If you like your stay, consider signing up for a reserved slot so there won't be any wait time if the server is full (which it is from 3pm cst to 1am cst). Tons of us here are so addicted we need to join instantly, and $5/month is well worth-it for playing on such a well-maintained server.
See you on the battlefield!! :4 :4

Re: Kicked twice
Betty there were some issues with the server last night so we had several restarts that could have been what you were experiencing as well.
Like Nihi said we promote teamplay to the extreme. Always create or join a squad when you get on, follow the commander or squad leader's orders.
We're glad your here and look forward to seeing more of you on the server and in the forums.

Re: Kicked twice
Ironically, I remember seeing that there was a kick command for something with Betty Crocker (maybe even the word squad in it). The reason I noticed it was because my screen froze in mid-play and I was scanning the screen looking for some admin notice. I saw the kick !k call then got disconnected.

Re: Kicked twice
darn thought I got a screenshot of it, but it said 'punkbuster' kicked by an 'admin' for sure... we were definetly !k'd ... in same squad together and had a friend loading up to join as well . Server was not full so I don't see why I would be kicked for not being in a squad. And it was definetly not one of the server issues, that makes me crash to desktop all the time now, and server was fine afterwards.
-also, i had 2 server kicks before we were playing - now have 5 after trying to play. And I always respect the rules and this seemed random - and because we had the same IP I think thats why. Someone screamed 'Admin' as well right before we were kicked (if you remember slow-poke) - dont think it had anything to do with us since we just had a few kills w/ at minds on roads by then.
- I live in Austin and a teamplayer and you can ask anyone who has played with me that

Re: Kicked twice
Hey BettyCrocker,
Don't recall if anyone was calling for an admin prior to the kick, but that night was full of odd disconnects, lag spikes, server crashes, etc... Other players were having random disconnects and at some point, the end of round or a new map would not reset the squads nor switch player sides. Chalk it up to one crazy night. I think I called it a night after my third disconnect (server crashed this time).
Ultimately, it's a great server with a lot of good players and admins. The teamplay is excellent and having all the maps offers a lot of variety. I don't think you and your husband were banned, so give it another try. I'm also from Austin, so the two of you should be getting a pretty good ping.
See you on the battlefield.
