Hey man, GREAT JOB! It's not an easy first step, don't be intimidated.

You actually cannot command and fight. It is literally against the server rules, because a commander that is not paying attention to his map, commander toys, and squads, is doing nothing but hurting his team.

You can get kicked or banned for taking the commander slot and then running around and fighting.

I usually arm up with an engineer kit, to repair any assets that might get blown up, although from time to time I have also taken a recon kit, to use the sniper decoy to mask my location, and to put apms around my orbitals, as those are always popular targets for the enemy.

Just keep it up, its not always easy, or fun, but one round a night will make you a server hero, and over time you'll get better at it.

GENIUS...Sometimes I am in awe of my lack of common sense.

Glitch, I found that if I let my squad leads know I was new @ commanding they helped out rather than writing me off as some point hoarding moron.

Congrats on your first round commanding! It does get better so keep at it!!!

Glitch you went up against me last night There were a lot of asshats out there. You did good though, it was a good game all around. Try commanding when you know some of the SLs and they can help you through.

oh yeah, and I changed my settings to english only particulary for commanding.
