One round a night folks!

Step up and take the commanders spot. If every regular, reservist, and clan member logged on with the pre-conceived intention of commanding just ONE round per session....we are golden. That is all it would take.

Instead the burden gets placed on a minority of players who command frequently, whether they enjoy it or they are doing it because nobody else will. If we all stepped in and helped those people out, the level of gameplay would exceed what it has been lately, at least during my sessions...I can't really speak for the late night crew I only see that on weekends.

As a case in point, in 6 rounds I played yesterday, 5th had 4 commanders (and we only had 3 players on the server). The other two rounds nobody would step up at first, and eventually non-responsive commanders took the position, which is about as good as having nobody at all. With all the familiar names and faces I was seeing on the server, it didn't make sense why 3 people had to carry the slack.

It's not just the 5th or any one person shouldering the load, its just that we could all do better across the board. How many rounds do we play and within the first 5 minutes you start to hear "groan who wants to do it" and nobody responds. Eventually someone sighs, someone who already commands frequently, and they opt out of their squad to go do it again. We've all heard it, and how is that fun for anyone?

It would make the game better for all of us, and people wouldn't get singled out for not helping.

Turtlesexx has this great thing where he tries to plan it out with the 5th. Have a quick chat in advance, set it up so a person commands the first round, squad leads the next, and squad members after that, and the next person knows they are squad leader first round, commanding the next, etc.

I see so many good commanders but it is often the same folks going over and over.

I'd like to thank Ice and Hinder for picking it up last night, and I'd like to apologize to my team for my crappy commanding skills, i'm much better at pointing a gun than I am controlling the chaos.

And of course big thanks for everyone in the community that regularly steps up into the position and leads the teams. Without that, our game doesn't set us apart like it should.

Just food for thought people...one round a session. Make it your first round if you hate it, or keep trying right from the start until you get it. That way you can get it out of the way and concentrate on another role.

PLEASE COMMAND I can't freakin SAAW anything from the commander position. So many aircraft have gotten complacent as a result.

I've got like 150 names on my buddy list, the only person with more commander points than I have is Pyro and Joker and FireDog are close. Rest of y'all may as well be looking up the mountain. Shameful

I got a long way to go to fix this but I hope that the other 26 people that viewed this thread are going to be right there with me. Some of the names I've seen viewing this thread already this morning are heavy hitters in the 2142 community too. Give it some support people, its not fair to those that paved the way for us.

I need to command so much more than I ever have. I'm one of those 'oh god I suck at this what is happening" types that hates commanding. But its time to bite the bullet and figure it out better. I follow orders great, and can keep a squad on target, but commanding...its chaos. But if I just do it once a night, that goes a long way to upping our game. And if we all did it, we would never hear of the issue again.

1 in 27. Just illustrates the uphill struggle to correct this and get the server back to where we want it.
