I think the Smoke would be more like the sentry's detecting through the Titan walls. It isn't like the EMP's affecting the corridor from the outside since the EMP isn't a physical phenomena; it's a wave that carries energy.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P
Bigdog-Sweet home Alabama you are an idiot.

I have to disagree guys. Realism is not in question here. Whether smoke can penetrate walls in reality has nothing to do with the game. Were the walls in the game designed to stop smoke spread? If not then its use in the manner mentioned is a glitch. However if smoke was designed to penetrate every wall in the game, then its not a glitch. I like the Sentry gun analogy. Im surprised we never discussed or noticed this earlier. Smoke nades are hardly used.

There's a big difference between the sentry firing through the walls and smoke going through walls. Bullets that pass through walls DO NO DAMAGE and have no effect on you other than being a nuisance. This was how DICE chose to address the sentry gun issue numerous patches ago. They still track and fire things through the wall, but if a bullet passes through the wall it will do no damage. The reason why smoke goes through walls is the same reason that people can glitch through walls. There's gaps in the actual 'structure' behind the texture that you see on your screen. The texture is not what determines what passes through and what doesn't, so what appears solid is not actually solid. It's the underlying structure of triangles that actually determines what is solid and what isn't.
Smoke going through the wall is a glitch. Plain and simple. You see the same 'glitch' happen when someone destroys the guns on the underside of the titan. The smoke passes through what should be solid to be visible in the corridor. Thankfully that smoke is not nearly as persistent as the smoke from one (or multiple) smoke grenades. Just one man's opinion, but it'd be nice to have a high admin speak up and end this debate once and for all.

RDX through walls = exploit
smoke through walls = exploit
EMP through walls = valid
the intent of the programmers has been persistent structures. We can't blow things up that weren't meant to be blown up. EMP is electromagnetic energy, isn't bound to the same laws as the 1st 2.
It can/will be hard to enforce. But, I need practice banning people.

Re: Intresting Find, But Is It Exploit?
Question:
I have no idea how the rdx through walls exploits work. I don't want to know.
However, i've been trying to learn the recon kit lately, its the only class I have never really played.
If I am tossing RDX around on the titan just trying to kill people, set an ambush, whatever..., am I in danger of accidentally triggering an exploit that could get me banned, or is it a very specific process that has to be done just right.
It would be nice to know before I start chucking RDX everywhere when attacking a titan.
