Let me be the first to tell you Lucky, that Battlefield 2142 is not as fast paced as COD4 is. Especially on Titan maps. You really don't have to worry about your mic, as you'll probably find time to type out a quick note in squad chat.

BTW, since you're new:
All chat, press J
Team only chat, press K
Squad level chat, Press L
Knife is weapon 1 on the weapon radial, not V, but it is still 1 hit one kill.

Yea i didn't get much time on the server last night... when i got on all i could see were many multicolored explosions and then i died...and died again and again. :3 Then my computer rebooted itself for no reason (it enjoys doing that) and i decided to look over all the unlocks and read a couple of guides on the classes and stuff so i don't make stupid choices when i rank up,when i got back the server was empty. So i spent the entire night playing on some titan server figuring things out and drinking coffee (which tastes discusting by the way)...So i understand the game now and have a couple of items unlocked and will pay for last night with a headache today. But yea see ya around the server.

I've had Battlefield 2 in my possession for over a month now, and the controls are basically the same so yea that wasn't the hard part when it came to getting used to the game. Using the knife is a pain... you have to be like humping their back in order to hit them with it.... :P

Good to see you man. As long as you can communicate in a timely matter, its not going to be a big deal.

But here is the catch...the chat box in 2142 is only THREE LINES...and it scrolls by so quickly, that often non mic communication will never be noticed.

Just be prepared to have people breathing down your neck sometimes because through no fault of their own, it will appear as if you are not responding a lot of the time.

Let folks know right from the start if your having issues, and then people will understand and it will be no problem.

Yea but I'm not very noticeable... well at least thats how it went in BF2 Because i never took any positions of leadership nobody really demanded anything of me... I just did what the squad leader asked of me and stayed out of heli's and jets so nobody yelled at me for sucking :P I guess you could describe me as one of those mindless drones who does what he is told and doesn't ask questions. But yea I'll let everyone know so they don't hate as much.
