Thread: Maps

I'm attempting to make a leap to the future from BF2. In this attempt, I'm having trouble getting Northern Strike to activate after I downloaded it from EA. I do have the basic 2142 loaded from a retail dvd + the new patch. So my question is this, are Northern Strike maps actually used in either of the servers?

If they are not used in the servers, then I'll jump in. If they are, well, I guess I'll see what EA tech support comes up with.

Install the patch again.

To get NS to work properly the correct way to load the game is :
Install 2142
Install 1.5 patch
Install NS
Install 1.5 patch again.

Thanks. The exact problem I'm having is that once you download the game through EA Download Manager, it asks you to activate the game. You enter a key similar to a cd key on the retail box and then hit submit. Screen flashes and the box the key was entered into is blank and basically this happens over and over. I'm waiting now to hear back from tech support.

If you downloaded it from EA then you have to make sure you have it registered to the right persona. There is some help you can find on the site to guide you in the right direction on how to find the right persona.... I had the same problem and turns out, because i have quite a few different personas, the one i registered or activated NS under, wasn't the right one..... EA wasn't quick to help but none the less, they eventually got it switched for me. Just make sure you have all your info when they do help if this is the problem..... As for the server running the maps, you bet TTP runs them...Yo0u can still play but when NS maps start to load, you will be kicked and have to wait for the NS map to end to join back..

PS... Persona is your 2142 name and/or the name you sign in under in EA..If that makes sense.
