A Consideration

None of us like getting our asses handed to us round after round, but there isn't a lot that can be done about. I'll take loss after loss quite happily, I'd even rather play rounds were we lost by less than fifty points than ones won by 150 or more. Only time I start to have a problem is when it is back to back rounds of blowouts the sort where one team is so weak it seems like you are the only squad fighting the entire team and you are top of your team with something like 20 points while the other team has pilots with like 80.
Now I'm not saying that anything has to be done about this, what I am saying is if you are one of the people that causes this to happen. Always want to play with your buddies? Hate to lose even a little bit and tend to end up on the better team? Just want to rack up the points? Stop being selfish think about it, what you are doing is making everyone else have less fun. If all you care about is your immediate friends/clanmates and/or a good score do you actually belong here.
I have a lot of respect for this community and call a lot of people my friends whether I actually tell them so or not and still and there are definantly people I preffer to play with but out of respect for everyone else I stay put on the team the server assigns me unless I think I am evening out the teams or am not affecting the balance. No I am not the best player on the server by any means but I can still make a difference. And by staying put and getting my ass handed to me I've found a lot more people I actualy like to play with, people I never would have squaded with otherwise.
My opinion of the excuse "I want to play with my friends," is a load of crap on this serve, here you should try and think of everyone as a friend except for the people who are actually pieces of crap, the hackers and griefers.

This is not a thread to whine about losing or point fingers at anyone it is here to put the sort of suggestions and ideas that might help with the gross imbalance in teams that sometimes occurs. If you have nothing constructive to say don't post in my thread.

STEPS TO UNFUCK BROKEN TEAMS:

1. Get Squadded up.
1a. Consolidate the one-man squads trying to hide from the admins.
2. Get a Commander.
3. Talk to one another.
4. Get yourself some cupcakes.
5. See Step 3.
6. Win.

90% of the teams I see that just can't seem to do anything right, have a mass-unsquadded problem, have no commander, and/or have no communication with one another.

I think the way the server is run, along with the settings ( No team randomizing, switching sides per round, etc) is the best way it could be run...

This is an issue that can only be addressed by the regular population we get on the server: If the teams are grossly unbalanced, be conscious enough to switch to the other side along with a couple of other buddies that might balance things out a bit more. As has been mentioned before, there are many good players that do this and try to help out.

This is the only plausible solution, IMO....

The admins will not move players around at their discretion, the only thing they do is kick unsquaded players, and then this leaves a slot open to, hopefully, someone that is a teamplayer and will help the loosing team out. This is another way the team talent balances out.

Other than that, I don´t think anything else should be done, because then that would be disrupting the general BF2 vanilla on TTP experience.

Only time I switch sides is if the team loses round after round after round by 150 tickets everytime or if the other team is down players. Other than that I stay on the same team that the server puts me on. Lately I've gotten the nak to squad lead and do fairly well. Mannos might be on my side and create a squad but sometimes I go my own way. It actually helps out a lot.

Dan's the man... after loosing 225-0 on Oman, the sides switched, we held Olive Hill, and only lost 35-0. Plus I got my Vet Anti-Tank badge while running over people in the APC

Fight as a squad, move as a squad, & die as a squad. Then become a team that fights like that.<< There is much wisdom in this saying that I use. It's what you did with your squad work on that map.

To be fair I feel strongly that this issues is being address among the regs recently. I know for a fact that a lot more people that I recognize on the server have been switching to help the losing side. That coupled with the fact that more regs have suddenly become more vocal in helping newer players to the server join squads and work together has made for a much better rounds from my point of view lately.

I've been a part of a lot more rounds where the scores have been close.

Kudos to the regs for stepping up and taking the lead on the server.
