Thread: post installation issues

EA has decided to replace it's 'EA LINK' with the EA store. Unfortunately I need an update for 2142 but i need the EA LINK to get the update. The next step is to shoot myself in the head right?

EDIT: When I tried to create a soldier a window popped up IG and told me I had 'error 164'.

Did you look in the downloads area here at TTP?

as long as you still have your old account with your downloads on them, they should have carried over. I still have all the bf2 expansions after all...

Nevermind...I was able to get further this time but EA decided not to let me play yet. I'll figure it eventually.

Ok now my only issue is ''unhandled error code 164'' exactly as that. It shows up when I try to create a soldier. I can't get past that.

google searching didn't help.

Thanks Frau. Dusty helped me find the servers. Now I just need to get on when there are people in the server.

so was it indeed the soldier name already "used/taken" in EA's mind and you had to make a new name or contact them to "release" the "used/taken" name if it was originally yours to begin with?

If so, I'll put this in the sticky up top (which might soon turn into an article)
