I always auto-forgive because shit happens in the heat of battle. I do not hesitate one second to push Yes for 'forgive'. Happens automatically.

One thing I never unterstood with this system is the minus score you get if someone forgives you. At least you should get less minus points when it happens. Say -5 for a punished teamkill and -2 for a forgive. That way it still shows that you have been careless but shit can happen. Wouldn't that be a better solution?

Nowhere does it show anything for punish/forgive. Points are taken after the TK regardless of the punish/forgive.

I'm pretty sure there are times that the game doesn't give you the option to forgive or punish. I'm not sure what it defaults to, but I know sometimes the score reflects a punish (-4) and sometimes a forgive (-2).
I'll be honest, I don't punish very often, and when I do it's from a completely blatant TK.

A punished tk holds the same value as a forgiven tk (point wise) though server administoral wise it means a bit more

I committed my most spectacular TK of my BF2 career earlier tonight.

Was guarding MEC Airfield in a Tank after capping it as USMC on Clean Sweep. And in comes a Jet on what looks like a bombing run over the flag. So I sweep the turret to lead it and BOOOM. I hit the jet, the jet turned out to be friendly.

Sorry Jurrasic! I promise to never do it again. :3

Ain't it typical that the only time I hit a jet with a tank shell, it is a friendly?

millwall, I remember being in your squad one of the times a squadmate punished you, you left the squad after that and I bitched up a storm at the squad, but no one fessed up to it. I didn't see who punished either. The SL was pretty pissed too.

I have a policy in my squad when I SL. It's simple really. If you purposely punish a squadmate for an accidental TK, I'll remove you from my squad. Point blank. I don't care if you're wearing an {HRD} tag, [IRON] tag, [SsT] tag, =PHX= tag or are the best known regular and reservist... or a pub scrub non-teamplayer out for some jollies; I will remove you from my squad.

I know accidents happen. I've punished a squadmate accidentally once or twice, it happens.. it when it's on purpose that I don't go for it.
