This game.....
...is farking confusing. Every day I found out something new (just figured out how to work that 3d map thing when issuing orders the other day) and it leads to 2 new things that have me like.... wtf!
just thought you all would like to know if you see a Dirtymcgavin running around, he has no idea what hes doing and if hes leading your squad you are destined for confusion as well

Re: This game.....
One thing you should do is always be moving in some way. Watch the tab screen for more people/who is dead/w/e, go into the tab screen see what vehicles are where, go to caps lock see what people are doing and how to do things, and watch the battlehud see the tickets/titan info, now most of this is more squad leader/commander business so if you are more of a grunt follow your squad leader and kill things.
It is confusing and giant but that is BF for ya

Re: This game.....
I have a regular keyboard but when i first started playing fps games on pc some1 else set up my config and I got too used to it. so I have to do it in that general way except for a few games like UT series where it actually makes sense to me to keep it on default.

Re: This game.....
Frau,
could you give a brief rundown of that thing? I've often been tempted, but people either hate it or love it so i've always held back.
What is the learning/adjustment curve. Does it really become so useful that you want to game with it instead of being able to do either/or?
Is the angle adjustable? Does it kind of cramp your hand as you try to get used to it, or does it just feel useful.
Also, is that directional pad truly useful, or just there for shits and giggles. I'm assuming you can program the different directions to specific keys and stuff, or will it only work like a mouse?

Re: This game.....
I have always been a cursor Arrow key user. Never got the hang of WASD
I find My fingers get lost trying to use WASD. All the keys feel alike. Using the arrow keys I never get lost due to the smooth plastic around them.
I set all my kets to that side of the keyboard. End Reloads, Ctrl lays down, R-Shift crouches, Keypad 0 stands/jumps, keypad 1 Sprints, Enter exits and enters vehicle, Backspace picks up kits, insert/delet bring up squad and kit windows... etc etc etc
I wonder if I could get used to a Nostromo. It doesn't look like I would get lost on it. I like the idea of programing the same button each time regaurdless what the game thinks you are hitting.

Re: This game.....
ok noob question now that im leading squads every once in a while.
1. how do you undo your squad beacon so you can drop another 1 if at all possible. after a while the squad beacon I put down is pretty damn useless.
2. if you dont have a squad beacon then does the squad have the choice to spawn on you automatically? or is it 1 of the unlocks.
