Screen goes Dark

I'm going with driver. The 8800gt is fairly bored with BF2142 as far as power goes. The issue I had was that I installed Vista and new drivers at the same time so I wasn't sure if it was Vista screwing with it.

You can install DirectX 9... http://www.microsoft.com/directx/

There was an update to DX9 in August. Which drivers did you install? I'm 1 revision back on nVidia drivers and have no problems with 2142...

Also make sure you have all the compatibility patches for Vista installed. They should have installed via Windows Update... There were a number of early fixes that were specific to the Battlefield series.
