You might even consider asking a mod to simply move this to the Articles forum

    Mod? What say you?

One apm should be put below the vent to blow when they drop. I think it's almost always a kill.

I go prone while jumping into vents to prevent that haha and to throw off the aim of anyone standing in there with a shotty.

But yeah, good article Iron Man :9

It's just like putting an APM at the base of a ladder. Never put APMs at the top of a ladder; if you hold crouch as you move along the ladder and leave it, the APMs won't hurt you.
enf-Jesus its been like 12 minutes and you're already worried about stats?! :-P

Yeah, some guy got my tags today cause he did just that . But my second APM which I was laying on (hides it, and when someone kills you they usually go over to your body either for the knife or to teabag) got him :10

tried this tonight and yeah.. it kept that vent clean! a nasty trick is to put the apm just outside the vent entrance into the cargo bay. Put it right in the middle of the walkway. That way they crouch down slowly and are focus on the APM. They don't even notice the RDX that has been attached to the roof above their head-plus they are going nice and slow so they won't outrun the blast!

Re: Effectively defending a Titan vent.

Iron Man thankyou for introducing me to this tactic. You have no idea how many Explosive pins, Titan Defense pins, and Combat Pins it's gotten me. Not to mention the number of squads I've pissed off and regs I've pissed off by repeatedly blowing their asses up haha. There really isn't anyway around this tactic besides staying the hell out of that vent. Even when they blow up my RDX with their own I always hide another one to take them out, not going to tell where I put it because that would just ruin the whole surprise.

Mine bait has a good radius of effectiveness against RDX. Easily defeats this tactic. With the Pilum vs back shields tactic, there should always be an engineer in a titan assault group.

Mud - you might recall that although you did kill me twice with tactic on the titan last night, that in the end I did kill you and destroy the console and the core. It is a good tactic, I can honestly say that - as I've done it myself, but it is extremely difficult to hold the corridor by yourself (even from one person) as evidenced by last night.
