I do this too. I can not hit anything from the hip no matter how close they are. I do find it to be a disadvantage sometimes, like when I die while trying to get the sights up. I've tried shooting without the iron sights but I end up dieing and not killing anyone. I stick with the iron sights because I at least have a chance of coming out on top.

I zoom in the majority of the time, unless I encounter a surprise enemy or I am in close combat and need the speed to strafe. When you use the M16, you need every accuracy increase possible.

You know it's funny - now that I pay attention to it - I actually shoot from the hip MUCH more often than I realized.

At close quarters I always shoot from the hip. I get so cranked up that I can't hold the gun still if it's 'scoped'. Probably why I die so much....too much Red Bull....
