    Disable User Account Control in security settings. If you can't find it, I can post a path. Make sure Windows Defender is allowing BF2 through. But wait, you didn't want to become a computer programmer probably, so...

    ...get an iMac, use bootcamp, and install XP on it. ALL problems solved. More deskspace too.
