Random disconnects
Well, for some reason, i keep getting randomly disconnected from the server.
Its to frequent to be connection issues with the server...
Like, i was playing last night, and i got disconnected, so i rejoined the server. not a minute later, i was disconnected again, so i tried again. i was able to play for an hour, before getting disconnected again. i rejoined one more time, but was disconnected almost immediatly.
Its not a punkbuster thing, as i dont get the "You were kicked from the server by punkbuster" message, i get the "You were disconnected from the server" message. i tried again today, on an empty server, and i still get the same problem.
Any help on what i should do here?
PS: its not only on the 2142 severs that this happens, it also happens on the BF2 servers to, if that helps any...

Re: Random disconnects
Another thing that you can do is check your ping (in the lists that come up when you hit tab). I assume that there is no punkbuster message or anything (if there is, sharing it will help). Did you run the tracert?
Some things that have caused high pings on my system with this game:
Punkbuster dl'ing an update. My solution is to use the utility available on punkbusters page to manually update punkbuster.
Xfire dl'ing / uploading an update. My solution is to move the file to archive once it has completed downloading.
Auto refresh pages (like gmail) in my browser. My solution was to not run the browser while connected.
Chat programs that spike occasionally. My solution was to not run chat programs (except xfire) while connected.
A housemate that surfs 10 or 20 tabs at a time. Personally, I vastly improved my ping by pointing out to my housemate that I pay for the connection and thus would be entirely justified if unplugged their Ethernet cable if I was spiked off of the servers. Although I can not endorse this approach for other people ... the repercussions may be a bit on the heavy side.

Re: Random disconnects
I ran the tracert like you said i should, but i guess it connected fine, because it closed out immidiatly after it was done. i have all my other programs (Steam, X-fire, Msn messanger, Ect) closed out, and i Have an average ping of about 30-40, and i still keep getting disconnected

Re: Random disconnects
There are two things that will sometimes cause me to suffer random disconnects. The first one is that my ISP Charter sucks in my area and will occasionally have problems or be doing maintenace when its convenient to use the internet.
The second is that PB is so awesome, it sometimes has trouble updating itself which leads to problems when it tries to communicate back to the mothership which will cause disconnects at the most inconvenient times...usually every 5-10 minutes or less.
Go to the Evenbalance website (PB developers), get PBSetup, and update it manually. In fact, just make it a habit to manually update PB before everytime you play.
