Thread: Quick question

I'm not sure how it works for 2142 cd's, but I lost the disc after I had quit (Before I knew about TTP). I still have the cd key on the instruction manual, but no disc... and I would like to start playing again. Is there a way to download the game online, or am I out of luck?

You can download the game online but it will come with it's own cd key. You might try contacting EA about getting a replacement disk. Otherwise a copy of 2142 deluxe edition which includes Northern Strike is about $18.00 on Amazon.

I recently had this happen with BF2. I had lost the CD's but still had my key, so I just downloaded the CD's and installed using my real key. Seems to work just fine.

I believe that this is due to the CD Key being tied to the account and not the media itself. I think that several people have done this successfully.

as long as you are legit (ie use your own serial key) you could just make a copy or .iso of someone else's media and use something like deamon tools to mount the image to play. I know my 2142 requires the disk to be in the tray to play. There are, of course, ways around that but we don't like to discuss those around here. In the end it's easier to pay the $18 for a new copy from amazon. Most places like EA will charge 10-20 bucks for replacement media/shipping anyway and it can take a long time to receive.
