I have a big problem with this. I am an action junkie and need to be in the thick of things.

I have found a happy middle-ground to this issue and I call it "corkscrewing" - I thought of this yesterday but forgot to post it until I saw it again just now. Because I'm an action junkie, I will be assaulting an enemy flag or defending our flag which is becoming overrun - don't panic! Just corkscrew! As a squadleader, always be aware of where the action is .. this means you need to be watching your UAV like a hawk, being in contact with commander, and relying on yourself and your squadmates to spot enemies (in general always SPOT before you FIRE - it just takes a split-second to tap Q and click your mouse and then click again to fire - this will make sure your teammates know exactly who you are engaging and where they need to look in case you get killed).

Rotate around a flag like a clock, inching closer, all-the-while having your squadmates spawn out of your pockets (a Jeep/Kelderos trademark) and head straight for the flag. The enemy won't get a handle on you (unless they have a clever opposing squadleader, and we all know who the clever ones around here are ) because you'll be assaulting from a new direction. A common byproduct of the corkscrew method is getting top squad. Also, if enemy squads don't pick up on your corkscrew, they may vacate the flag to attack where you once were, and you sneak right in with your army of 6 and cap those sorry asses 8) 8)

Invite Warlady to your squad. Everyone loves her, cuz she's a ton of laughs (and a pretty good player too ).

    Then you'll be pohpulah!

*Edit: And the Corkscrew is awesome if you can master it. Thanks for giving it a name Nih. But basics are plenty. Focus, open spawnpoint, lead and have fun.
For when the One Great Scorer comes, to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the Game

Man, the only way I know you is by my gunsights. I've killed you alot and never looked up to you. It's one thing to respond on the forums of game you've haven't played in a year and a half, it's another to keep saying, "I could come back" or "I just might come back" and dish out advice like it's nothing. If you're not in it sometimes the game passes you by and by your own admission, it looks like it has. If you come back and supposedly "grace us with your presence" squad up with the regs and learn something. Otherwise leave the advice giving to the regs.

Listen to me when I say clearly come back and prove me wrong on the battlefield. If you do I'll take everything back and publically apologize on the forums about how wrong I was. Otherwise, right now you're only sounding like an old man merely talking about how good you use to be and that has no validation. Your actions speak so loud I can barely hear what you are saying.

Please come back and show us the brilliance you once had and add something to the community. Heck I might learn something from you. This post is simply a shot across your bow to get your attention. You are important, but if I don't know you how is Davecraze gonna know who you are?
Wow,,,,,, Just walk up and spit in your Sergeants face their Private. Things are going to get pretty tuff, with that kind of attitude.

Man I miss Ranger..... Time always goes by and the True Heroes are Legends.

hrmm... I suggest that as a squad leader, you should make it a goal to make the life of enemy SL's a living hell... without the living part... At least thats partially what has allowed me to be successful (albeit usually during low-population) in my miniscule amount of squad leading experience... also.... mic mic microphones are really cool gadgets!

Definitely a good artical. If I may offer a suggestion for the mods, how about creating a sticky that links directly to these articles from the BF2 thread? Many newcomers that pull up the BF2 thread may never know about the articals written regarding BF2.

i know this post is kind of old but I need to say something because this just pisses me off.

You know, I had respect for you when you joined the forums. I squaded with you and enjoyed it. This post here lost any and all respect I had for you.

Look at his post count. Almost 3,000 posts. You have what? 30? 40? 11Bravo has been here from almost the beginning. 11Bravo has been my mentor ever since I have been at TTP. Thats over 2 1/2 years. Hell he has been the mentor of many of the BF2 greats here in TTP. Ranger, Clint, CivilWars, the list goes on. Who the hell are you? You may not have seen either him or me very often. But rest assured that Bravo is one of THE best squad leaders that TTP has to offer.

He is a pillar of the PR community. PR is where the big boys play. You want to call him out? You better know who your calling out.

Shot over his bow to get his attention? This is MY shot over YOUR bow for you to realize just WHO you are in relation to the rest of us. Especially 11Bravo.

I concur, I told bravo this the other night, Bravo is not only a great admin, but an ever greater friend. He has always been there to guide me and everyone else through tough situations, I for one, and freakin' glad he is here, PR wouldn't be the same without him.

Correction, TTP wouldn't be the same without him.
