Holding it down...

I just want to say that last night on Mashtuur City, Rico squad was assaulting North Gas Station and it turned into an epic battle. It started like any particular flag cap, you know go in kill a few guys, cap the flag and then the @*$)@$&(@ hit the fan. I noticed while we were killing people to get to the flag, more than just the people we were killing were spawning there. There were 3, yes 3 squads on the flag defending it. We were in a fight for are lives. I knew at this point we were not going to be able to cap the flag so my squad retreated to the hill above the Gas station. All we could do was buy time and hope the rest of our team could cap all the flags besides this one.

Countless artillery shells fell from the sky to stop our squad. Xavsnipe dropped arty on my squads heads 3 times and after the dust settled, RICO squad was standing. We had squads coming from all angles of the mountain and try to kill us. Time after time again they continued to attempt to take the hill from us and were denied.

Where things went south was when they brought a vodnik and a tank (remember that there are 3 squads still trying to take us out, and arty falling from the sky like rain down on our heads) to kill RICO squad. We were killing, reviving, killing, and reviving. I felt like John Rambo in the first Rambo when he ran to that mountain and the cops, national guard, and military were after him. The onslaught lasted for 15 mins. Finally, the enemy overpowered us, RICO squad was dead.

From the ashes I looked at the spawn map, our team had taken every flag but that one. I felt good about what we had done. I thought to myself, this is a damn good squad. I like this squad and the battle fought hard on that hill. I will remember that day RICO squad held half the team off for 15 mins. A glorious battle indeed.

My leg still hasn't recovered fully from that accident (I only say accident, cuz I got the little bugger after that).

I love squads like this. It's a pretty rare occurrence. I remember last summer when I played more; It was on Tampa that I would always have a squad defend the gas station. We would have two APC's or tanks coming from each flag at us. My squad luckily listened to my orders and spawned the appropriate kits. I don't think I ever failed to lose gas station at all. :10

That was the first round of the map... We had so many bad guys that they were running over my head not realizing I was laying at the flag!! I was laughing so hard I couldn't shoot squat! I was looking for Xav... And I found him... AND (4)Manno... AND..... a whole bunch more!!

So the next round... I'm in RICO squad... We are trying to take Hill... So many bad guys I can't revive Johnny... I go hide with a Support gun.... Ended up with the Silver... YAHOO!! :10

I was in that fight with the RICO squad. It was a classic and memorable BF2 moment. The battle felt a lot like the below movie scene...but for a lot longer. I think (4)Manno and Rico had the same verbal exchange at the start of the battle. Xavsnipe, is that you and your entourage commanding in the movie scene? :9 :9 :9 :9 :9
