Re: PR Top 10 Map Poll
Operation Barracuda is a challenging map, it is probably my favorite. We did not choose to play PR to have it easy. Each map is unique and requires learning what to & not to do on each map. I don't want to see it become a favorite game or a 'hey buddy go vote for this' type of bullshit. We need good maps at the top of the rotation, but we also need the ability to change up the variety.
This server is not about catering to those who only wish to use assets. It's also, about the; on the ground, in your face, you want that position then you need to figure out how to fucking take it from my squad/team. As soon as we eliminate the ground pounding maps, then it will turn into a 'I hate it when I can't get this done, or that accomplished because I didn't get an asset'.
Sometimes the best thing you can do when it doesn't happen, is to put your feet on the ground, use intelligent smart decision making and get to flags. Armor and Fly stuff does not cap flags. It's a team game, and so many times I see people standing around instead of walking. I know, I know, it sucks. But you know what sucks worse for me, watching people standing around waiting on things in use by someone else when they could have been out there helping to hold a position. This game is so much more about what you do when you don't have what you'd like. I and others have proven that ground/infantry squads are the very heart and soul of the battle, without them your team is guaranteed to lose.****************11B*************** Look for Pathfinder75thB in TeamSpeak! ***************11B*****************

Re: PR Top 10 Map Poll
I've always found that the battles that use more ground assets (kozelsk, insurgent maps, qwai) to be more enjoyable because of the fact that the map sizes limit the entry routes for transport helos and jets seem to fly endless circles in order to not run off the map. It's not that I don't like having air support, just that those few guys flying take away from the assets on the ground to capture flags and make the plays. Maps like Muttrah and Barracuda seem more balanced because the assets have a true purpose, the cobra can easily take out the enemy apcs and supply ground support, the hueys on barracuda have a specific role of transport or fire support.
Maps like kashan with the jets seem to be 'thrown in' to me, whereas the smaller size kashan with the helos seems to just 'fit' better with the armor approach. An A-10 doing circles in the air drawing AA fire while a lone officer lases a target just doesnt do it for me on a small map, since in reality the A-10 would take a long line approach rather than the sweeping WW2 style dives we see in PR.
Keep em company size with support in my humble opinion, that's what the map size can handle and what the player amount can handle. If we had bots it would be one thing, but we don't so we are always going to be limited to 64 total people which is only 32 per side.
