Thread: Good Bye 62%!!

So after having built my i7 super rig, I played some games, installed 2142 for shits and giggles as well as BF2. Maps load in 5 seconds!!!!.

In fact I was screaming HOLY SHIT!!!!!!

You know that infamous 62% loading bar section, that hangs for 20-30 seconds? Well - good bye 62%!! The loading numbers go from 4%, 15%, 82% and 100% in 5 seconds.

Tf2 and CSS maps also take 5 seconds to load. 0.5 seconds for the map and 4.5 seconds for my crappy DSL line to go hey!! Mr. Server!!! I'm right here!!

Was flying the chopper today after a fresh install and it was as smooth as silk. Does that happen for anyone?

Awesome! After all the research I've done, it looks like nothing can touch the i7. Yay for you hairy.

It just took 20 seconds to optimize my shaders while loading into Dakin oilfields. I'm soooo lovin this!

happy for you though, can't wait till I get off of AGP.

I was using AGP for the longest time. Took me forever to make the switch.

I must add that it's not just the i7 but also the 2 SSD drives in raid 0.

I'd love to clock the windows install off a USB instead of a dvd. so far thats my only bottleneck.

What's an i7? I'm still using an Apple IIe.

I don't want to burst your bubble, but that huge performance boost is probably from the RAIDed SSDs. But the i7 is nothing to be ashamed of either.
