    Yeah I joined then my game crashed. Restarted, got back in, and by then, there wasn't a lot of people on the server.

    Going straight to the router helped for a little bit, then everything went to hell again.

    I might go kick it on the BF2 side of things for a little bit.

    Lots of hops indicates your ISP doesn't have great peering agreements. Are they tier 3 or worse? If your packet travels over too many routers, when they suddenly drop too many packets, it means you're screwed. Post up the result of tracert.

    The other problem may be your broadband router. How old is it? If it's more than 2 years, you should think about changing it, especially if it's a Linksys.

    Yayupp - at least post the results of some of the trace routes from you house to ttp servers (website and game) and few other big sites (google, cnn, msn)

    That will at least give you some "ammunition" to talk to your isp about. That is what I had to do with comcast. After many many phone calls and several "levels" of tech support...they finally realized that actually wth I was talking about and was not the typical customer. About a week after those phone calls, the problems I was having with packet loss three hops down the line from me (always between 11pm and 12:30am) mysteriously went away.
