I have Windows 7 64 bit. I don't know if that is the problem, but Battlefield 2 wont start. I keep getting C/Windows/sysWOW64/dxgi.dll isnt compatible, and I need to upgrade to atleast dx9.0c.

Any idea whats going on and how to fix it? Thank you.

Does 7 allow you to run an app in XP compatibility as Vista does? Upgraging the DX may help as well. Other than that I don't know.

Well some of you have noticed now... I finally got things working (after a completely new install of 7 :3) Been enjoying it and am looking forward to getting back out there.

BTW: I'm space.cowboy187 in BF2 now... stupid people taking my name... If I'm in your squad I would like to first off apologize in advance :9. Feel free to tell me if I need to do something other than what I'm doing. I've been getting comfortable with AT and medic, but if you want something else feel free to let me know and I'll try my best at it.

I had 2142 running fine under Windows 7 64-bit. You need to go to http://www.microsoft.com/directx/ and download the latest DirectX from Microsoft.

I've got it running fine now on 64-bit too. I had tried installing directx, but I kept checking and I had the current version. Dont know what the problem was, but a fresh install (of windows) fixed it. I had some extra time on my hands...

No dude, you are a great squad mate to have. You spawn green, play the two most usefeul kits in the game, and listen to all orders, nothing more I can ask from a squad member as a leader. See ya on the field!
